Missouri First Lady reads at MU preschool

The First Lady of the State of Missouri said Saint Patrick TMs Day is the perfect day to wear green and read to children.

Georganne Nixon, a former teacher, spent Wednesday morning reading to kids at the University of Missouri School of Health Professions TM Robert G. Combs Language Preschool.

Nixon TMs trip to the MU campus was part of the First Ladies TM Reading Program.

Preschoolers enjoyed the book Red Day, Green Day."

The First Lady said she chose a book with green in the title in observance of Saint Patrick TMs Day.

I think it TMs one of the greatest things that we can do, especially in this magical time before children are reading for themselves," Nixon said. "When we as adults share our love of language and reading, it TMs the greatest gift we can pass on.

The Missouri First Lady said promoting reading and literacy is one of her key initiatives.
