A search party found the body of a Boonville man missing since Tuesday on Sunday morning.
Boonville police say the Cooper County Coroner's Office positively identified the body as 46-year-old Michael Magyar. His body was found around 10:40 a.m. in a wooded area near Oregon Trail in Boonville.
Boonville residents say hundreds of people fanned out in teams all over the Boonville area to find Magyar. Jeannie and Ray Sanchez, who were on one of the search teams, say they looked for about an hour near a water tower before they determined he was not there. Another team found him shortly thereafter. The Sanchezes told KRCG 13 Magyar, who was an insurance agent, was very active in his church and in the community. Several Boonville residents said he was extremely well-liked all over town.
An autopsy will determine an official cause of death. Police do not suspect foul play at this time.
