Wed, 12 Feb 2014 14:39:35 GMT — A drug bust at a Jefferson City motel led to a Henley man's arrest. Early Tuesday morning Jefferson City Police officers went to the Econo Lodge on Jefferson Street for an anonymous complaint of drug activity in one of the motel rooms. Police learned Anthony Alexander, who was staying the room, had a Cole County felony warrant for escape from confinement. During a search of the room officers found a black lock-box which Alexander admitted to being his. Inside, officers found glass smoking pipes with white residue, two digital scales, several plastic baggies with white residue and four baggies containing suspected methamphetamine. Alexander confessed to an addiction to meth. Officers said they believe the combination of the items were for distribution and or sales of the substance. Alexander denied being a "seller" of the drugs.
