A Mexico, Missouri man has been convicted for years of child sex crimes, according to the Audrain County prosecutorâ??s office.
Thomas Miller, 49, was found guilty of child molestation, statutory sodomy, child molestation, child abuse and endangering the welfare of the child.
The jury in Audrain County found him guilty in each of the seven charges after deliberating for nearly five hours on Thursday.
Miller faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum term of 44 years imprisonment.
â??Thomas Alan Miller took no responsibility for the repeated abuse, pain and suffering he caused to this survivor,â?? Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ashley Turner said after the trial. â??This brave, smart, artistic, and beautiful young woman had the courage to rise above her abuserâ??s power and control to tell this jury and our community about what happened to her. Thanks to this juryâ??s decision, she can grow stronger, more confident and discover who she is beyond this abuse."
He was arrested in August of 2013 after admitting to several accusations of child molestation.
The charges came after the victim reported Miller's abuse to school officials.
Miller is scheduled to be sentenced on September 19th.
