Meth and cocaine found in Columbia motel

Christy Ward was arrested after Columbia police found cocaine and meth in her motel room.

An Ashland woman was arrested after police found cocaine and meth inside her motel room.

Monday at about 10:30 p.m. a Columbia police officer noticed a red F150 which registered as stolen out of Marshall, Missouri.

The officer stopped the stolen truck at Highway 63 and Brown School.

The driver of the pick-up, Kyle Massengill, was arrested for first-degree tampering.

Christy Ward was the front passenger in the truck and said she was staying at Midway Budget Inn.

Ward gave officers permission to search the room.

Inside of it they found a baggie containing a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, another small baggie with small crystals that tested positive for methamphetamine, inside a pair of jeans on the floor a small red vial was found that contained small clear crystals that tested positive for methamphetamine, three burnt glass pipes and a scale.

Ward was arrested for two felony counts of possession of controlled substance, second-degree tampering and use or possession of drug paraphernalia with a total bond of $10,000.
