A Marshall man is dead and two passengers seriously injured after a crash in Saline County early Sunday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Scott Mullins, 19, lost control of his 2000 Dodge Neon on Route YY just north of I-70 shortly before 1 a.m. The car left the roadway and rolled several times, throwing Mullins from the car. Mullins was pronounced dead about an hour later. Passenger John Eitel, 19, also of Marshall, was partially ejected during the crash. Eitel and the car's third passenger, 19-year-old Mikaela Giles of Independence, were both airlifted to University Hospital with serious injuries. University Hospital officials told KRCG 13 Sunday morning Eitel was listed in critical condition but did not have any information on Giles.
Neither Mullins nor Eitel were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
