UPDATE: Maries County officials have captured fugitive Jeffrey Eaton. Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman announced that Eaton is being held on a no bond warrant.

Original story: Multiple mid-Missouri agencies are searching for a man they said is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Members of the Maries County Sheriff's Office, the Vienna Police Department, and the Algoa State Prison dog tracking team are looking for Jeffrey Eaton.

Eaton was released from the Maries County Jail on January 26 when he posted bond for: two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, felony resisting arrest, felony burglary.

January 12

Eaton was arrested a night after leading deputies on a high-speed chase on Highway AA near Vienna.

The sheriff's office said Eaton had asked a local resident for help escaping the area.

Maries County Sheriff Christ Heitman said Wednesday afternoon he got a report that Robert Mudge, 35, of Cuba, dropped Eaton off near where he crashed his car on Highway AA.

Mudge was arrested for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a firearm, and trespassing.

Mudge's passenger, Crystal Noakes, 35, of Cuba was arrested for trespassing.

Both Mudge and Noakes remain in the Maries County Jail pending formal charges.

One loaded weapon has already been found as well as suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Heitman also said he suspects Eaton left something behind when he was arrested on January 12, and he went back to get it.

It is reported that Eaton may be in possession of a handgun and possibly a machine gun.

The sheriff's department said to call 911 if you see any suspicious activity, and lock your cars.

Eaton has several felony convictions.
