Westlake Police have confirmed to KRCG that kidnapping and rape suspect Brian Adkison was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

According to Captain Guy Turner, Adkison was captured in a nursing home in the Cleveland suburb. He is now in custody.

According to WKYC, Adkison was spotted bicycling, then ducked into a wooded area. Shortly after, he was spotted by staff inside a nursing home. He was arrested after a brief struggle with police.

After a high-speed chase early Tuesday, Adkison was able to escape from police. They located him sleeping in a pickup truck in a hotel parking lot.

Adkison escaped from Caldwell County Jail on August 10. In June, he was the subject of a large manhunt at Lake of the Ozarks.

He is accused of raping and kidnapping a 23-year-old MU student.

Adkison's alleged victim tweeted shortly after the news broke: "Brian Adkison is back in custody. God is good!"

We will keep updating this story as more information becomes available. No local charges have been filed at this time, but they are being considered.
