Man turns himself in after hiding out from authorities

This Callaway County man, Michael Smith, was arrested early Saturday morning for unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
Mon, 29 Apr 2013 13:28:20 GMT — A Callaway County man was arrested early Saturday morning for unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. The Callaway County Sheriff's Department said at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday deputies went to the Green Meadows Trailer Park for an assault involving a gun. When they got there, 22-year-old Michael Smith, of Auxvasse, ran into the nearby woods. During the investigation, the victim said they found Smith in a trailer. When the victim confronted the 22-year-old man, Smith threatened them with a gun. Callaway County Sheriffâ??s deputies, Fulton Police officers, and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers searched the area but were not able to find Smith. However, later Saturday morning, Smith turned himself in to the Callaway County Sheriffâ??s Office. He is in custody $20,000 bond
