Man tries to take deputy's gun

A man was arrested for allegedly trying to take a deputy's gun.

A man faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a deputy Sunday night.

According to the Boone County Sheriff's Department, deputies were in the 5900 block of Limoges Drive around 8 p.m. investigating an unrelated incident, when Trammond Roberts approached one of the deputies.

Authorities say Roberts told the deputy that he was going to take his gun, and then reached for the gun.

The deputy tried to take Roberts into custody, but Roberts resisted.

The deputy was eventually able to take Roberts into custody, and Roberts was then taken to Boone County Jail.

He was charged with third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
