Tuesday night about 8:47pm, Phelps County deputies were called to the 17000 block of County Road 8260 for a report of shots fired. They found Larry William Stump, then deputies say Stump pointed a handgun at them and threatened to shoot if they did not get off his property. Stump fled into the wooded area and got away.
The next day law enforcement got a warrant for the 57 year old man from Doolittle, Missouri. Then on the 13th found him in the afternoon at a business located in the 200 block of Schofer Street.
He was arrested without incident and faces charges for unlawful use of a weapon, assault/attempted in the 2nd degree on a law enforcement officer, and armed criminal action.
