Callaway County Sheriff's deputies went to 8781 Old Highway 54, located outside of New Bloomfield, at about 10 p.m. on January 23 after receiving a report of a disturbance. While on their way, deputies learned Mark Stanley had a stolen vehicle and was at the location.
Stanley ran from the residence before deputies arrived. Deputies did not locate Stanley, although they did find a blue Dodge Caliber that had been stolen earlier in the day in Boonville. The vehicle was then taken to the sheriff's office for evidence processing.
The residents told authorities that Stanley assaulted two people before running.
Later that same night, the residents reported that Stanley returned and kicked a pregnant woman in the stomach, assaulted a 13 year old and ran away again. Deputies responded but did not find Stanley.
Deputies returned over the next several days to look for Stanley. On January 28, they were notified that Stanley had returned and run off again. They went that day and the next to look for him, but did not find him.
Finally, on February 4, authorities received information about Stanley's location.
He was taken into custody without incident and charged with first degree tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of third degree domestic assault, second degree domestic assault and third degree assault.
