Man shot and killed during home invasion

Update: Wednesday, April 20 at 1:55 p.m.: According to the Boone County Sheriff's Department, Deangelo T. Grant is in custody of the United States Marshals Service in Jefferson City. Authorities said Grant turned himself in early Wednesday afternoon. Update: Wednesday, April 20 at 12:55 p.m.:Authorities are still searching for 2nd degree murder suspect Deangelo Grant. Charges have been filed and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.Grant's bond has been set at $900,000 cash only once authorities arrest him.Authorities have not released a second name in connect with the homicide of Donnell Coleman and have not given any indication of motive in the crime. Boone County deputies have named a suspect in the fatal home invasion that happened late Sunday night.
Deangelo T. Grant, of 2221 Primrose Drive, has been charged with 2nd degree murder, armed criminal action, and 1st degree burglary for the weekend incident.
Deputies are actively looking for Grant. A warrant for his arrest was issued late Tuesday afternoon. The 26-year-old also is wanted for illegal drug violations in Lafayette County and for passing bad checks in Platte County.
Deputies found Donnell Coleman with a gunshot wound to his chest just before midnight Sunday. A 25-year-old woman in the Boone County home told deputies two black men forced their way into the apartment and shot Coleman in the chest.
The woman and a 4-year-old girl in the home were not injured.

Update: Tuesday April 19 at 10:40 a.m.: The investigation continues as to who killed Donnell Coleman, and a motive behind the Sunday night shooting in Boone County. Deputies said they are interviewing more people, including neighbors and others who knew Coleman.Deputies confirmed there was a 4-year-old girl in the apartment when Coleman was shot, along with a 25-year-old woman. Someone murdered a Boone County man during a home invasion shortly before midnight on Sunday night.
Boone County Sheriff TMs Investigators say someone shot and killed Donnell Gregory Coleman, 27, in the Country House Apartment Complex north of Columbia near Highway BB.
Someone called 911 and reported a shooting at 7711 La Porte Avenue. Donnell Coleman TMs body was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman, 25, who was also in Coleman TMs apartment, was not hurt. She told investigators 2 black men busted through the front door and shot Coleman in the chest.
Boone Cunty Sheriff TMs Department Detective Tom O TMSullivan said, We have about 30 officers here working the case. The Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad has been activated. At this point, we are making contact with friends, relatives and family of the victim to try to find out who may have had a beef with the victim. Hopefully, that can bear some fruit as far as identifying suspects.
Investigators with the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad are trying to figure out the motive behind the murder and home invasion. They are not ruling robbery or drugs.
Witnesses told investigators the 2 black male suspects left the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
Witnesses described one of the suspects as a black male, about 5 TM 11 tall with braided hair.
The other black male suspect was shorter in height and stockier in his build.

Boone County Sheriff TMs Deputies are investigating the shooting death of a 27-year-old man, and the suspects are still on the loose.Deputies said the death stems from an apparent home invasion late Sunday night in the Country House apartment complex north of Columbia. Deputies said two male subjects forced their way into the apartment TMs front door, and shot the victim once. The suspects immediately fled the apartment after the shooting.Donnell Gregory Coleman was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting around 11:35 p.m. Sunday.
