Authorities said Brent Comer died in a home in Miller County on April 8 died while trying to burglarize it, according to Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott.
Mon, 15 Apr 2013 14:04:15 GMT — The man who's body was found in a burned home in Miller County on April 8 died while trying to burglarize it, according to Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott. Investigators determined during the burglary on Eldon Road, 23-year-old Brent Comer set the house on fire to cover up the burglary and got caught inside. A gas can was found in the house near a stove. The Missouri medical examiner said Comer died from smoke inhalation. The owner of the home, Treba Taylor Crismon, who lives down the road, said the home was vacant and in-between renters. Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott said through their investigation, it was determined Comer acted alone.
