A Columbia man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for the 2013 murder of a Jefferson City man.
21-year-old Domionte Cheatum pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, armed criminal action and first-degree robbery.
Prosecutors say Cheatum shot 25-year-old Anthony Unger in June 2013 during a drug deal. Two other suspects in the death testified against Cheatum during his trial. Defense attorneys claimed the two witnesses lied.
Columbia police found Unger's body in a car in a parking lot on Conley Road in Columbia.
Two others, 26-year-old Samuel Butler and 22-year-old Joycelynn Brown, were also charged with second-degree murder.
