Man robs Columbia bank

The suspect entered the bank at about 2:45 Wednesday and brandished a gun before running away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are searching for a man they say robbed a north Columbia bank at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.

According to Officer Latisha Stroer, a man wearing a bandana over his face walked into the Landmark Bank at Rangeline and Kennesaw Ridge Road shortly before 3:00, showed a handgun, and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was last seen heading northeast toward a subdivision.

The Boone County Sheriff's department utilized a canine officer to help in the search.

No customers were in the bank and no one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is a white male in his 30's, 5'6" tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light-colored jacket and khaki pants.
