Man pleads guilty to possession of child porn

John S. Littell, 68, of Columbia, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of child pornography and will be sentenced in September.

A Boone County man is scheduled for sentencing in September for a guilty plea to possession of child pornography.

John S. Littell, 68, came under suspicion in June of last year, when a Columbia computer business reported finding child porn on a computer that was being repaired, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department. Further investigation turned up more than 25,000 images of males believed to be in their teens, with some appearing to be as young as eight years old.

As a result, a warrant was served on Littell's Hyde Park apartment, where additional images were discovered, at which time he was arrested on possession charges. He pleaded guilty in Boone County Circuit Court Monday.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Sheriff's Department, the University of Missouri Police Department, and the FBI.
