A father and son from Mexico were arrested after a traffic stop turned into a foot pursuit early Wednesday.
Around 2:35 a.m., a Callaway County deputy stopped an SUV for failure to dim its headlights.
The passenger, 24-year-old Carl Atterberry, jumped from the SUV while it was moving and fled on foot. He was arrested and police found him in possession of methamphetamine. He also had a felony warrant for second-degree burglary, felony stealing and drug paraphernalia out of Audrain County.
The driver, 46-year-old David Atterberry, had a suspended license and was arrested for felony hindering prosecution. He also had a warrant out of Fulton for operating a vehicle without a valid license.
Carl Atterberry remains in the Callaway County Jail on a $36,000 cash bond. David Atterberry was released on bond.
