Authorities arrested a Jefferson City man after they found him asleep in a car with a meth pipe in his hands.
On Tuesday at about 3 a.m. a Cole County Sheriff's deputy found
Daniel Dawson asleep in the front passenger seat of his mini van in the 3700-block of Bird Haven Road.
The deputy said Dawson was holding a clear glass pipe, commonly used to smoke meth, in his hands as he slept.
The deputy then found a small amount of a white, crystal-like substance folded in a receipt in Dawson's pocket.
Then, in the van, the deputy found a metal tin which had pain pills inside along with Concerta, a drug commonly used for ADHD, along with zip lock baggies, and a spoon.
Dawson was arrested and charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and the misdemeanor of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
