A Missouri man was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries Monday night after crashing into a utility pole along Highway 22, according to the MO State Highway Patrol.
It happened westbound Hwy 22, just east of Schunemeyer Rd. Monday evening.
The Highway Patrol reports the driver, William Brittain, 34, of Harrisburg, had serious injuries, but the passenger was not hurt.
The vehicle's rear tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control.
The car flipped and hit a utility pole, breaking the pole in half, state officials said
It took authorities two and a half hours to remove the car from the scene because of power lines nearby.
