A Columbia man has been arrested on suspicion of several Internet-related crimes against children.
Detectives first came across 24-year-old Christopher Snell during a separate Internet-based investigation earlier this month.
Investigation revealed that Snell had engaged in inappropriate online conversations with a 13-year-old girl he met in a chat room in November.
Authorities say Snell and the girl exchanged sexually graphic pictures. The report says that after receiving the pictures of the girl, Snell encouraged the girl to meet him late at night.
Authorities say when the teen snuck out, the two engaged in sexual conduct.
On December 19, investigators found Snell in Boone County and seized his cell phone.
On the phone, authorities found the photos that the teen had sent him. Later that day, investigators also seized Snell's computer.
Snell was arrested for suspicion of the enticement of a child, possession of child pornography and sexual misconduct involving a child.
He is in Boone County Jail pending formal charges.
Investigators are attempting to locate other young women the suspect is believed to have had contact with. Anyone with information should contact Task Force investigators.
