A Columbia man is behind bars, arrested for numerous sex-crimes including sex trafficking and prostitution.
Kenyata Miles, 32, was arrested Tuesday by the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Boone County Sheriff's Department after an investigation into on-line prostitution.
Last month, the Cyber Crimes Task Force was notified of a posting on an internet classified site, which advertised for prostitution.
The post showed pictures of a juvenile female who hadn't returned to a juvenile group facility after a weekend furlough. She has since been recovered.
Investigators determined Miles was responsible for the transportation of women to motel rooms in Columbia and other parts of Missouri for prostitution activity.
Investigators also said the man allegedly forced at least one woman to engage in prostitution by physical violence and threats of violence, including pointing a handgun at one of the woman to coerce the woman to continue with the prostitution activities. On Tuesday, during a search of Milesâ??s car, investigators found a .45 caliber handgun.
He was arrested for suspicion of promoting prostitution, trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and domestic assault.
Miles has prior convictions on numerous felony offenses including drug offenses and crimes of violence.
