Man allegedly sets wife, home on fire with gasoline

Tue, 18 Jun 2013 02:36:51 GMT — A man accused of setting his wife and home on fire in Randolph County was arrested Tuesday.Tuesday night at about 10:30 p.m. deputies from the Randolph County Sheriffâ??s Office found and arrested Willard "Willie" Hunt in rural Randolph County.Online court records indicate Hunt faces one charge of first degree arson. The Sheriff's Department requested Hurt also be charged with domestic assault and armed criminal action. His bond is set at $200,000.Randolph County authorities responded to a call of a structure fire at around 4:00 p.m. Monday at 301 S. Randolph St. in Higbee.Upon arrival, officials found a home fully engulfed in flames, and a woman badly burned at the scene.The woman told officials that her husband poured gasoline on her and around the home, then told her that he was going to set her and the home on fire.The woman was life-flighted to University Hospital in Columbia with critical injuries.
