A Maries County man convicted of killing the mother of his unborn son will spend life plus 100 years in prison.
A Texas County judge Tuesday sentenced Terry G. Fritz, 43, to life without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder in the shooting death of Kinga Gillibrand, 35, of rural Meta, who was last seen alive on June 8, 2010.
That November, hunters discovered the remains of Gillibrand and a fetus in the woods in Maries County off of County Road 215. The body had been shot three times.
Investigators searching Gillibrand's home near Meta found her blood at the scene, and a bullet hole in her mattress from which they were able to extract a slug. They also discovered a gun in Fritz's possession from which three bullets were missing.
Fritz was found guilty in April by a Texas County jury on a change of venue.
