UPDATE: Suspect in custody after fleeing traffic stop

After about a three-hour search, Matthew Harris is in custody without incident.

The Saline County Sheriff's Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Marshall Police Department were searching for him Saturday afternoon.

According to a Saline County Sheriff's Department press release, the agencies were trying to locate Harris at approximately 1 p.m. The man fled on foot from a car stop near eastbound I-70 near the 74.4-mile marker.

Officials did not specify why all three agencies were searching for him.

According to online court records, Harris has previously been convicted. He has been charged with stealing and breaking probation.

A warrant was last issued for his arrest Dec. 13, 2017.
