Kidnappers face new home invasion charges

Douglas Stangeland

Two of the three western Missouri men charged in last week's botched New Jersey kidnapping now face new charges here in the Show-Me State.

Douglas Stangeland and Andrew Wadel now face charges of breaking into a western Missouri home and questioning the homeowner about the apparent target of their abduction.

Vernon County, Mo. prosecutors issued warrants for Stangeland and Wadel Saturday.

The charges stem from an alleged home invasion in November in which the homeowner was asked about "anyone by the name of Muller."

Police now believe Jeffrey Muller, the 59-year-old pet store owner kidnapped Jan. 8, was the wrong Muller.
