Katy Trail Ride pedals through Jefferson City

Cyclists head back to the trail after breakfast at Jefferson Trailhead.

Over 300 cyclists traveled through Jefferson City Wednesday as part of the 14th annual Katy Trail Ride.

Riders are making the 240 mile trip from St. Charles to Clinton. The trip began Monday with scheduled stops in Hermann, Jefferson City, Boonville and Sedalia. It ends in Clinton on Friday.

Wednesday morning, bicyclists were treated to breakfast at the North Jefferson Trailhead before heading on to Boonville. That's about a 52 mile ride.

Riders from all over the United States took part in this year's event. The youngest cyclist is 6 years old. The oldest is 86.

The Katy Trail Ride is sponsored by Missouri State Parks.
