Eddie Boyd was convicted in Miller County after being charged with first-degree domestic assault for an incident in February 2010. The 53-year-oldâ??s wife went to a hospital two weeks after the assault with broken ribs and evident bruises and contusions.
The Missouri Court of Appeal Western Districtâ??s Per Curiam Order affirmed the 25-year sentence. Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Howard noted in a news release that "in criminal cases a Per Curiam order indicates that no real question as to sufficiency of evidence or significant legal issues were found to exist."
Under Missouri law, Boyd must remain in the Department of Corrections without a chance of parole until heâ??s at least 70.
