A Missouri judge has dismissed a former soldier's request for custody and child support payments from the underage girl with whom he conceived a child.
The petition was filed during a guardianship and adoption case filed by the parents of the child's mother, who was 14 years old when she became pregnant in 2010.
Pulaski County Associate Circuit Judge John Clayton ruled Tuesday that the father's petition should have been filed as a separate case. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that the father's attorney said it would be refiled soon.
A military court in 2012 found the father not guilty of aggravated sexual assault, statutory rape and committing an indecent act.
