Jefferson City voters did not pass either the tax levy and bond issue.
4,480 voters (36 percent) said yes to the tax levy, while 8,085 (64 percent) said no.
4,103 voters (33 percent) said yes to the bond issue, and 8,497 (67 percent) said no.
Jefferson City Public Schools superintendent Brian Mitchell said he was disappointed by the outcome, and he will now look to the community to see what they did not like about the proposals.
Mitchell also said that to temporarily accommodate the overcrowded schools, they would have to bring in mobile classrooms.
When asked whether he would consider two high schools in the future, Mitchell said he would have to get the input of the voters.
