      Jefferson City voters make changes on city council, school board

      Voters in Jefferson City have made changes to the city council and school board.

      Voters in Jefferson City have made changes to the city council and school board.

      Challenger Glen Costales upset incumbent Carrie Tergin to win a council seat.

      Monday, Tergin was the only council member to vote for a conference center proposal. She supported the Earnardt groupâ??s downtown plan.

      Costales was elected to the council by a margin of only 47 of the more than 900 votes cast.

      Voters also made a change on the Jefferson City School Board.

      Incumbent Tami Turner was unseated in a five-candidate race.

      John Ruth and Ken Theroff were voted back to the board. Steve Bruce was also elected.

      The other unsuccessful candidate was Harold Coots.
