      Jefferson City Prepares for Snowstorm

City officials said their biggest concern will be the traffic flow on priority streets.

Jefferson City Public Works Officials said they are ready for the upcoming snowstorm.

Jefferson City Street Crews have more than a dozen snow plows that also spread a salt water solution that melts snow and ice as it falls onto the roadways.

City officials said their biggest concern will be the traffic flow on priority streets.

They suggest that you prepare for a snowy drive, whether it's across town or across Mid-Missouri.

Operations Division Director Britt Smith said, "We've checked all of our equipment out. Obviously, we've been through a few snows during the last few weeks. This isn't anything new, but we are already kind of setting up for spring so we've had to back up a little bit and make sure that all of our equipment is still ready."

Smith said snow removal is a team effort between snow plow drivers and motorists.

City officials want everyone to allow extra time when traveling tomorrow and to give plow driver's plenty of space to do their jobs.
