The former preacher at a Jefferson City church is in custody on $250,000 bond charged with three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy alleging he had sexual relations with a boy under the age of 14.

Thomas McAdams, 52, who is listed as the preacher of St. Michael's Deliverance Church in Jefferson City on the church's website, was arrested on July 2. He is still in custody in the Cole County Jail.

In a grand jury indictment, Cole County Prosecutor Mark Richardson says that in January of 2008, McAdams had deviate sexual relations with the victim. It alleges the same behavior between January and August of 2009, but does not specify if that charge refers to the same victim.

McAdams is also charged with having deviate sexual relations with a male victim under the age of 17 in January of 2010.

McAdams is listed as the preacher of St. Michael's on the church's website; the church's telephone is not in service.
