Jefferson City Police investigate overnight robberies

Jefferson City police are investigating two overnight robberies.

Jefferson City Police are investigating reports of two robberies early Saturday morning.

Just before 12:30 a.m. a person flagged down an officer in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street in reference to a strong-armed robbery. The victim said three men wearing masks assaulted and robbed him.

Minutes later, officers were called to an armed robbery at the McDonalds at 1918 Jefferson Street. They were told two suspects wearing masks and armed with handguns robbed the business.

Police did not say whether they believe the two cases are connected.
