Jefferson City motorcyclist taken to hospital via helicopter after crash
JEFFERSON CITY —
A Jefferson City man was flown to the hospital after a near head-on collision in Cole County Wednesday.
According to the crash report, 45-year-old Joseph Whalen, was driving his motorcycle southbound on Westview Drive.
Around 9:05 p.m. Whalen turned the corner too fast, crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck on Bagnall Drive at Starlite Drive.
Whalen's motorcycle overturned onto its side and skidded to a stop in the road.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, but Whalen was seriously injured. He was life-flighted to University Hospital in Columbia.
