Seventh graders at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in the Capitol City got a taste of Africa this morning.
The school had their 13th annual "Tour of Africa Day". The students learn the cultures of the continent through dance, food and games. Some volunteers dressed in ethnic clothing to teach students.
"This is done in order to share with the kids the culture. We just started Africa this week. Where they learn about the culture. And this kinda gives them idea because the kids really don't know where Africa is, all the countries in Africa, who lives in Africa, what their lives are like. This kinda shows them how different Africa is from their lives in the U.S."
The students are also studying the art, writing and dieseases of Africa.
