      Jefferson City man hurt in early morning crash

      A Jefferson City man was taken to the hospital after a crash Wednesday morning.
      A Jefferson City man was taken to the hospital after a crash Wednesday morning. At about 6:50 a.m. Ryan Freeman, 31, was turning left from southbound onto Highway 54 west in his Toyota Prius. Jefferson City police said Freeman failed to yield to a Ford truck driven by Wayne Brenneke, 46, who was driving northbound through the intersection of Highway 179. The two collided, causing major damage to both vehicles. Freeman had moderate injuries and was taken to Capital Region Hospital for treatment. Brenneke was not hurt. Both men were wearing their seat belts.
