      Jefferson City felon found with gun and drugs

      Ronald Russell is charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.




      A convicted Jefferson City felon faces two new charges after police found drugs at his apartment.





      At about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday Authorities executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 100-block of Marshall Street.




      During their search, JCPD SWAT took Ronald Russell into custody.




      Cole County deputies found a toolbox in the apartment's bedroom which had a shoebox containing about 44 grams of marijuana.




      Inside a closet, they also found a gallon size bag of marijuana with approximately 455 grams, or nearly one pound of marijuana.


      A .32 caliber handgun was found under a pillow on the bed.





      Authorities also took another small bag of marijuana in the living room, a partial box of sandwich bags, a digital scale, and money.


      Russell is charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
