A Jefferson City daycare has been shut down by the State of Missouri.
Kids Unlimited on Fairgrounds Road in Jefferson City had its license suspended and revoked last Thursday according to reports from the State's Health and Senior Services Department.
Those reports indicate that earlier this month, a two-year-old child left the daycare through an open gate.
The child walked through a yard and then onto Fairland Road
A driver stopped when she saw the child in the middle of the road.
After calling police, she took the child to the daycare. At first, the daycare said they weren't missing any kids when actually the child had been away from the daycare for about 20 minutes.
Kids Unlimited can appeal the decision within 30 days.
