A Jefferson City church is collecting donations to send to Moore, Okla., to aid the victims of a deadly tornado.
Concord Baptist Church is accepting donations every day through next Wednesday, May 29 (except Memorial Day and the Sunday prior).
The church's executive pastor is from Oklahoma, and was there in 1999 when a similar tornado devastated the town.
His son works at a congregation a couple miles outside Moore, and Concord is partering with that church to get the supplies to those who need it.
They are asking people to donate:
Baby bottles (new only)
Socks (infant to 3x)
Soap, shampoo, toothpaste
After the collection is over, church members will take truckloads of the goods down to Moore.
Anyone can donate:
Friday, May 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 from 8:30 a.m. to noon
Tuesday and Wednesday May 28 and 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Concord Baptist is located at 3724 W. Truman Boulevard in Jefferson City.
