JCPD prepare for the Fourth of July

The Jefferson City Police Department will take part in a statewide drunk driving crackdown ahead of the Fourth of July weekend. Beginning Wednesday, July 2nd, the department will increase their patrol downtown and in north Jefferson City.

People who watch the fireworks from the north side of the river are reminded that parking along Mokane Road and Hibernia Road is limited to one side of the road.

The department also reiterates that fireworks are not permitted on airport property.

The events in downtown Jefferson City start on Thursday, July 3rd and run until Saturday, July 5th.
