JCPD adds three officers

The Jefferson City Police Department has added three new officers to their roster. Captain Doug Shoemaker says one is headed to the academy for training, the other two will start field training in the near future.

The three new officers are adding to the 80 officers already in the department.

Two more candidates are in the middle of the interview process and the department has four more openings.

The department will hold testing in January for officer candidates and for dispatch candidates.
