Parts of I-44 closed due to multiple multi-car crashes
NEW BLOOMFIELD —
Missouri Department of Transportation reported that both eastbound lanes on Interstate 44 are closed due to a multi-car crash.
The lanes are closed east of Marshfield around mile marker 106. The duration of the incident is expected to last through the night, according to a MoDOT release.
All eastbound I-44 traffic is being diverted at mile marker 100. Detoured traffic will be using Route 38.

Other MoDOT crews are plowing and treating the detour route.
Other parts of I-44 are also closed, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Eastbound lanes by mile marker 186 are also closed due to a 30-vehicle crash. There were 11 reported injuries in that incident.
There was also a 12-car crash that resulted in one death and one injury, according to MSHP. This crash closed eastbound lanes by mile marker 138.
And westbound lanes on I-44 are closed by mile marker 144 because of an injury crash.
MSHP has responded to over 100 roadway incidents, one fatality has been recorded.
The agencies recommend using its Traveler's Map to check road conditions. Authorities ask that drivers stay home if possible.
