Hundreds gather to search for missing woman with Alzheimer's

Hundreds of volunteers searched Warsaw for Hellen Cook Thursday.

About 300 people joined together to search for Hellen Cook, an elderly woman with Alzheimer's Disease from Benton County who went missing July 13.

Volunteers from Facebook, local healthcare businesses, Whiteman Airforce Base, Blue Springs Assembly, along with family and friends searched over 200 acres in Warsaw Thursday afternoon.

A pair of boots and a scarf were found in an area of woods near Truman State Park. The items are believed to belong to Cook.

According to family members, Cook may be trying to make the 106 mile trip home to Buckner, MO. She may be confused, have difficulty communicating and answer to the name Hellen Cox.
