The number of residential burglaries during this year's spring break period in Columbia were the highest they've been in recent years.
Mon, 08 Apr 2013 13:41:16 GMT — The number of residential burglaries during the 2013 spring break period in Columbia were the highest they've been in recent years. From March 22 through April 2, 2013, Columbia Police said there were 21 residential burglaries, three commercial burglaries and one burglary at an unattached garage/shed. In 2012, there were 21 residential burglaries. In 2011, the city saw 14 residential burglaries, one commercial burglary and one burglary at an unattached garage/shed. The amount of burglaries has increased over the years. In 2010, police said there were just 10 residential burglaries and five commercial burglaries. Police said the burglaries were not limited to a certain part of the city, as homes and businesses throughout Columbia were targeted.
