      House Fire Considered Double Homicide

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set to destroy evidence at the double murder scene.

Investigators in Pettis County continue to search for the suspect or suspects responsible for a double murder on Monday morning.

Authorities found the bodies of Barbara Hudson, 56, and her son Jeremiah Hudson, 26, in their burning home northwest of Green Ridge in rural West Central Pettis County.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set to destroy evidence at the double murder scene.

Members of the Missouri Rural Case Squad are assisting Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond with the investigation.

Bond said witnesses have been very cooperative.

Bond said, ??We ran about 35 leads yesterday. For the most part, people are willing to talk to us. That??s important. Law enforcement is not magical or anything. It??s just hard work from some people that have experience and knowledge. It takes the community??s cooperation for us to bring perpetrators to justice. That??s what we are trying to do here in Pettis County.??

The sheriff is urging anyone with information in the case to contact the sheriff??s office or their local law enforcement agency.

Pettis County Crime Stoppers also offers a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

      That number is 660-827-TIPS.
