A hotel manager told KRCG 13 Saturday he sees more guests from the visiting team since MU switched to the SEC last year.
Thomas Musser, the assistant hotel manager at the Holiday Inn Executive Center, said MU fans accounted for the overwhelming majority of guests when the university was still part of the Big 12. Since the change in conferences, Musser said fans of the visiting team typically book a huge chunk of his rooms.
"When Georgia was here last year, they took up like 80 percent of the rooms," he said.
Musser said Florida fans accounted for a more modest but still impressive 35 to 40 percent of reservations. He said his hotel gets about the same total number of fans every football weekend as it always does. Hampton Inn & Suites general manager Susan Bell made the same observation, noting her hotel near the stadium has sold out every weekend for the last five years.
