Home under construction burns to the ground

Just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning Osage Beach Fire Protection district responded to a house fire on Westhoff Drive in the Oak Creek subdivision in Camden County.

When firefighters arrived at the scene a large 2-story home was fully engulfed in flames.

The home was under construction and almost finished.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes.

A nearby home suffered heat damage from the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshals from Osage beach and the State Fire Marshals Office.

The home is a total loss and the estimated total damage is $1 million.

Osage Beach Fire Protection District was assisted by Mid-County Fire Protection District, Lake Ozark Fire Protection District and Tan-Tar-Maintenance.
