Two people were injured after a racing boat lost control and flipped Saturday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 47-year-old Joel Begin of Valley Field, Quebec and 44-year-old Michael Fiore of Bristol, Rhode Island were in a 42' Outer Limits Catamaran on the 34-mile-marker at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Just after 10:30 a.m., wind caused the boat to go airborne. It overturned twice before landing bow first and coming to a rest. Both Begin and Fiore were thrown from the boat.
Begin was taken to the Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries and Fiore was taken by helicopter to University Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
Both were wearing life jackets.
