Flags across the Show-Me State will fly at half-staff on the day of a fallen officer's funeral.

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens issued the order Friday for all U.S. and Missouri flags at state buildings to be flown at half-staff in memory of Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael.

The officer died from wounds he sustained while responding to a traffic stop Sunday night. Michael's funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Benson Convention Center, with a public viewing two hours before the service.

“Officer Michael’s family and his department still grieve, and the entire state of Missouri joins them in their grief,” Greitens said in a release.

Greitens also ordered that U.S. and Missouri flags at all state buildings in Henry County be flown at half-staff from Aug. 13 - Aug. 19.
